Some pieces don't exist off the shelf in the size, wood, or finish a space actually calls for — that's where custom furniture comes in. I build one-off pieces like console tables, benches, drawer units, and standalone shelving, choosing hardwood species and joinery based on how the piece will be used, not just how it looks in a showroom.
Joinery is chosen to match the piece — pocket screws where strength and speed make sense, tighter joinery like dovetails where a drawer needs to hold up to years of daily use. Finishes are matched to your existing trim, flooring, or cabinetry so a new piece looks like it was always meant to be there, not like it was bought separately and dropped in.
This work fits homeowners who've looked for the right piece and couldn't find it, and builders who need a custom furniture-grade piece to finish out a room. I build every piece myself, from rough lumber to final finish.
